Psalm 127 : 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord… What is Needy Feet Ministries? MISSION STATEMENT To raise awareness of the needs of Russian orphans and the orphanages that care for them. To find ways for Christians to connect personally with orphanages and the staff that serves in them. To highlight Christian ministries and other organizations involved in serving orphans and street children in Russia. To encourage Christians to become adoption-minded, whether it be Russian orphans or others. To encourage Christians to support orphanages in prayer and with financial contributions. To promote short-term mission trips to Russia for the sake of building a missions-minded group of Christians that have a vision of what it means to "seek first the Kingdom of God!" PURPOSE Needy Feet Ministries began with a short-term mission trip to Moscow and Saint Peterburg in January of 2003. Our group handed out Christmas packages to groups of children from orphanages and some street children in Saint Petersburg and other orphanages around Moscow. During the trip, the Lord placed a burden on my heart to pray for the orphans and the orphanages of Russia. As I prayed, during and after the trip, I began to sense the Lord beginning to reveal a ministry to me regarding the orphans. While praying one Sunday morning in March about what the Lord's vision for this ministry should look like. He popped the idea of "Needy Feet" into my head. While we were visiting an orphanage in Vladimir, about 2 hours drive east of Moscow, the Director of the orphanage told our group how having shoes for all the kids occasionally presented a problem. At times, the orphanage would not have a pair of shoes for one of the kids and the child would go without shoes until the orphanage could afford a new pair. Try to imagine yourself an orphan: NO shoes to wear and NO relatives that care! The Lord inspired the idea for "Needy Feet Ministries" on the internet because He wants to raise awareness of the plight of the orphaned children with people He has blessed and designated to help these children. When you opened our website, chances are it is no accident that finds you here. The Lord is calling Christians of every nation to become aware of the plight of orphaned children around the world. Needy Feet focuses on the orphans of Russia. Please take your time and look through our website. From various pages, you will learn of the current and future conditions in Russia and they will also point out some options of how you can help.
